Nature Notebook Renewed on WVIA Radio Station for Seventh Season

PPL Corporation
06-18-2012

PPL Corporation, working with WVIA-FM, is entering its seventh year of spreading interesting nature and environmental information across northeast Pennsylvania — one minute at a time.

The corporation recently renewed its sponsorship of “The Nature Notebook,” a weekly one-minute program on WVIA featuring Jon Beam, a naturalist with PPL for the past 21 years. Beam, who holds advanced degrees in biology and geosciences, is based at PPL’s Montour Preserve, near Washingtonville, Montour County, northwest of Bloomsburg.

“Environmental stewardship is a core value at PPL, and Nature Notebook has been a great way to put that into action,” Beam said. “Through WVIA, we have the opportunity to reach a wide audience across northeast Pennsylvania.”

If you miss the Nature Notebook broadcasts on the air, they can be found online at www.pplpreserves.com.

Nature Notebook is broadcast on Sundays at 4:57 p.m. and is an extension of PPL’s education efforts at its environmental preserves. It examines both subtle and obvious changes that occur in nature throughout the year.

You can hear Nature Notebook on 89.9 FM in northeastern Pennsylvania, 94.3 FM in Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg, 99.3 FM in Allentown, 100.5 FM in Lewisburg, 105.7 FM in Sunbury, 99.7 FM in Mainesburg, 89.7 FM in Williamsport, 90.3 FM in Clarks Summit, 105.7 FM in Bethlehem and 94.9 FM in Pottsville.

PPL Corporation (NYSE: PPL), headquartered in Allentown, Pa., through its affiliated companies, owns or controls about 19,000 megawatts of generating capacity in the United States, sells energy in key U.S. markets, and delivers electricity and natural gas to about 10 million customers in the United States and the United Kingdom.
