Earn Teaching Credits While Learning About the Energy Industry at the Nuclear Energy Seminar for Teachers

Teachers can obtain the professional development credits they need while enjoying a fact-filled program about energy topics this summer at the Susquehanna Energy Information Center in Berwick, Pa.
This popular 5-day course provides teachers of grades K-12 with objective, up-to-date information about energy-related issues, the safe and secure operation of PPL’s Susquehanna nuclear power plant and the use of nuclear isotopes in other industries.
Experts from the Susquehanna power plant, Bloomsburg University and other organizations provide hands-on activities and experiments that can be easily transferred to your classroom. Field trips to Susquehanna’s control room simulator, emergency operations center and environmental lab, and a wind farm demonstrate the real-life use of the concepts covered.
This year’s program is scheduled for July 29 through Aug. 2. Educators earn three continuing professional development credits, processed through the Northeast Intermediate Unit for a fee of $60.
