As part of its continuing partnership with the communities it serves, PPL Corporation is once again offering grants to teachers to help their students learn more about energy, the environment and resource conservation.

Through the competitive Empowering Educators grants program, teachers can receive up to $2,000 for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) projects to encourage action in schools in Pennsylvania and New Jersey near PPL facilities.

Projects must focus on energy issues, such as renewable energy, efficiency and the greening of schools.

“PPL supports and invests in education that helps teachers and their students understand energy and the environment, and prepares students for the workplace,” said Lissette Santana, PPL’s manager of Corporate Relations. “Through the Empowering Educators grant program, we are able to make a direct contribution to teachers and students.”

This year, the application process is even easier. To complete the online application form, go to www.pplweb.com/grant-application. Applications must be submitted by Nov. 14. Grant awards will be announced Dec. 12. For more information, go to www.pplweb.com/education-grants.
