PPL Susquehanna Invites Internationally-Known Environmentalist to Speak at Berwick Area High School

Meeting the nation’s increasing energy needs while addressing environmental issues is a challenge that can be met.

Learn how when PPL’s Susquehanna nuclear power plant sponsors a community presentation by Patrick Moore, a co-founder of Greenpeace and former director of Greenpeace International, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 at Berwick Area High School.

Moore, who has a doctorate in ecology, will address the challenges of reducing carbon dioxide emissions and the crucial role nuclear power should have in our energy future.

He has been a leader in the environmental field for more than 30 years. He serves as chairman and chief scientist of Greenspirit Strategies, an environmental policy consulting firm. Moore has written two books, “Pacific Spirit: The Forest Reborn” and “Green Spirit — Trees are the Answer.”

PPL Susquehanna is sponsoring the visit as part of its commitment to give area residents a full range of educational programs on energy and the environment.

Admission is free, but seating is limited and will be on a first come, first served basis.
