A Fruitful Day’s Planting in the Peace Garden
Western Power Distribution

Students at Redland Green School in Bristol lent a helping hand with the planting of some fruit trees in their school’s Peace Garden recently.

With financial support from Western Power Distribution’s Tree Scheme, which is managed by The British Trust for Conservation Volunteers, the students made quick work of the planting which included apple, pear and plum trees.

Ben Hall from BTCV explained: “Redland Green is still a relatively new school and a lot of the existing trees around the boundary were retained during the building work.

The school wanted to develop an area that has been set aside as their Peace Garden with fruit trees that will provide a splash of colour in the spring as well as lovely fruit to eat in the summer and autumn.”

The students were helped with the planting by BTCV volunteers too.
