Seat in Memory of Celia
Western Power Distribution

Youngsters from Landulph Primary School in Saltash can now enjoy their outdoor space from the comfort of a new tree seat donated by Western Power Distribution.

The school’s Eco Club, with support from the PTA approached Corporate Communications for support after one of their supporters, Ann Kelly from Business Systems at Elliott Road explained about our ‘keen to be green’ initiative.

Ann explained: “The Eco Club was initiated by an active parent, Celia, who had a positive philosophy about educating children on the importance of looking after our world and its limited resources.  Sadly Celia recently lost her battle against cancer and the school received donations in her memory to continue the work she started.”

Although the school continued with ‘Celia’s Eco Project’ funds were limited and additional resources were needed to see the work complete so that the children could all benefit from the work she started.  Ann suggested the school contact WPD for support and we were able to provide funding for a tree seat where children can sit and read quietly or watch and appreciate the variety of wildlife in the school garden.

Ann added: “It was lovely to see the tree seat installed and I know our support was a massive boost to the school.  I am sure Celia would be delighted with everyone’s continued efforts.”
