Safari Energy Hires Ron Wedeking to Head Up Commercial and Industrial Solar Sales
Business development expert with more than 30 years experience joins from Greenskies

NEW YORK, March 3, 2020 – Leading commercial and industrial solar developer, Safari Energy, today announced that Ron Wedeking has joined the company as Senior Vice President, Business Development. Wedeking brings over 30 years of experience in business development and finance with a focus on renewables as well as the traditional energy, water and power markets.

“Ron’s addition to Safari Energy will help to build on the stellar track record that the team has established over the past 12 years and diversify our commercial solar project pipeline,” said Kirk Edelman, Chief Commercial Officer, Safari Energy. “He has come at an exciting time for Safari Energy, as we’re eager to tap his impressive experience.”

Wedeking joins as Safari Energy has recently announced several impressive milestones, including the company’s 60th commercial solar project completed in New Jersey and its 100th commercial solar project completed with leading self-storage REIT, Extra Space Storage. The milestones came shortly after Safari Energy announced David Heyman as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer in December 2019.

In his most recent position as SVP of Business Development at Greenskies Renewable Energy, Wedeking led a national business development team for one of the largest commercial and industrial solar developers in the nation, providing solutions across project development, finance, construction, operations and maintenance and asset ownership.

Wedeking has held executive leadership roles at leading renewable energy companies including Duke Energy’s REC Solar, where he developed projects across the U.S.  as Vice President of Utility Solar Development, as well as Clean Energy Collective, where he was responsible for the successful introduction of new markets totaling over 130 MW of community shared solar.

Wedeking holds a B.A. from Northwest University and has completed graduate coursework at Regent College in Vancouver, B.C.  He is also a certified LEED trainer.
