PPL Subsidiary Offers Customers Internet Billing Option

The electric utility subsidiary of PPL Corporation is offering its 1.3 million customers in eastern and central Pennsylvania the option of viewing and paying their electric bills on the Internet.

"This new service gives our customers the convenience of viewing and paying electric bills 24 hours a day from their computers, using a secure Web site," said Robert M. Geneczko, vice president of Customer Services for PPL Electric Utilities.
Customers who choose to enroll in the Internet billing option will be able to view their electric bills online and arrange to pay them from a checking or savings account. The Web site gives customers up to six months of billing and payment history on their accounts.
After the first month, Internet billing customers no longer will receive paper bills in the mail from PPL Electric Utilities. Instead, they will receive an e-mail message from the company letting them know a new bill is available for viewing and payment.
Customers may enroll in Internet billing at any time by visiting PPL's Web site: http://www.pplweb.com/. There is no additional charge for the service. All customers need to sign up is their 10-digit bill account number from the upper right corner of their electric bill, their ZIP code and their e-mail address.
