The Royal National Institute of the Blind Talking Book Library has received a boost following a generous donation of £3,000 from Western Power Distribution.
The sponsorship will fund the production of six new children's books, translating them into an audio format to benefit visually impaired children living in Leicestershire.
WPD sponsored the books after hearing about the valuable service provided by the RNIB's Talking Book service to blind and partially sighted people of all ages.
"When we heard about the fantastic work that the RNIB Talking Books service does and the huge cost involved in the running of the service, we were only too happy to help and are delighted to have added so many new children's books to the service,” said WPD’s Stella Hayward.
