£400,000 Investment in Spilsby Power Network
Western Power Distribution

Western Power Distribution (WPD) has invested £400,000 on its electricity network in Spilsby to further safeguard supply reliability for customers.

WPD became the electricity distribution business responsible for the Midlands in April 2011, and this new initiative has involved upgrading equipment in a major substation that supplies electricity to around 4,000 customers in Spilsby and the surrounding areas of Ashby, Great Steeping, Northorpe, Partney, Scremby, Dalby, Fordington, Hundleby, Raithby and Toynton.

Temporary equipment was installed to avoid disruption to customers’ supplies while the work was carried out, which took five months to complete.

“Our aim is to invest to maintain the reliability of electricity supplies for years to come,” said Patrick Booth, WPD’s Lincolnshire Projects Distribution Manager.

“We are committed to providing a consistently high level of service to customers and will have spent over £2 billion on our network between 2010 and 2015.”
