LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Natasha Collins, morning show anchor at Louisville's CBS affiliate WLKY, will join Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company July 22 as the director of media relations.

Collins, who has been with WLKY for 10 years as a news anchor and reporter, earned a Master of Arts in journalism in 2001 from Emerson College, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations, telecommunications and film in 1999 from Eastern Michigan University. Before joining WLKY, she worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor in KTVQ in Billings, Mont., where she won an Associated Press award for "Best Spot News."

During her tenure at WLKY she's covered a range of news and feature stories from politics to community activities. Collins has moderated political debates and hosted events such as the YMCA Black Achiever Award show and the Kentucky Derby Festival's They're Off Luncheon. She also serves on the Spina Bifida Association of Kentucky board and teaches fitness in her spare time.

As part of LG&E and KU's Corporate Communications Department, she will be responsible for the strategic direction of the companies' media relations activities; the media relations team; and serve as the primary spokesperson for the utilities.
