WPD Opens New Depot in Boston
Western Power Distribution

Western Power Distribution (WPD), the electricity distribution network operator for Lincolnshire, has opened a new depot in Boston, bringing its staff to the centre of the community they serve.

WPD became the electricity distribution business responsible for the Midlands in April 2011 and since then has been committed to providing a consistently high level of service to customers.

Its new depot, a two-storey building on the Endeavour Business Park, has been architect designed to remain functional even in flood conditions.

In common with other WPD depots, the Boston depot has been awarded an excellent BREEAM rating. BREEAM is the world’s leading environmental assessment process and is the UK standard for excellence in building design, procurement and construction.

WPD’s Estates Manager, David Withers said: “From the solar panels on the roof to the rain water harvesting for the wash rooms, every element has been carefully thought through to ensure that the depot is as environmentally friendly as possible.”
