A HUG credits the utility account of any LG&E or KU customer. A credit is applied directly to the recipient’s utility account and automatically deducted from the person’s next bill.

HUGs are especially ideal for families in need, senior citizens, newlyweds and college students who live off-campus, as well as for churches, non-profits and social service organizations to help manage routine operating expenses throughout the year.

Purchasing a HUG

Download a HUG request form from the LG&E and KU website.  HUGs may be purchased in any amount starting at $25. 

An electronic copy of the certificate may be emailed by request, or the certificate can be mailed so it can be presented in person. Please allow 10 days for processing.  

Print and mail the completed HUG form along with your check or money order for the amount of your HUG purchase to:
