ALLENTOWN, Pa. (Nov. 22, 2016) – What are you THANKful for this holiday season?

At PPL Electric Utilities, we’re saying THANKS for six things that help our 1.4 million customers stay safe, warm and energy-efficient.    

T – Thermostats. They can help in many ways, and programmable models make life easier. Set yours at 68 degrees when you are home, and lower it when you are away or asleep. Also, be careful not to put any heat-producing items, like lamps or portable heaters, near your thermostat. They can throw off the reading.

H – Help. Do you or someone you know need help paying your electric bill or weatherizing your home? For customers who meet income guidelines, we have a host of programs. Information is available at pplelectric.com/billhelp.

A – Aid. Customers who sign up for paperless billing this month and next will aid their neighbors in need: We’ll donate two meals to local food banks for each new signup. If that’s not enough, all paperless billing customers will also be eligible to win a tablet. N – New equipment. When you replace old, inefficient appliances and equipment with new, more efficient models, you can save electricity — and money. You can not only lower your electric bill, but you can also take advantage of rebates. Check out our rebate offerings at pplelectric.com/savings.

K – Kilowatt-hours. Curious about the energy you’re using? Check your online account for information on how much you’re consuming and how that relates to the temperature outside. You can view usage on a monthly and even hourly basis and see a summary of your usage going back two years.

S – Safety. We’re serious about safety, both for our employees and our customers. We have safety tips at pplelectric.com/safety. Plus, you’ll see how we’re out in the community educating both kids and adults about how to stay safe around electricity.
