A drop in the mercury can often mean a rise in electric bills and that can be especially hard on some PPL Electric Utilities customers already stretching their household budgets.

If you’re struggling to pay your electric bill, and you meet income requirements, PPL Electric Utilities’ OnTrack program may be able to help.

OnTrack can reduce your monthly payment and you don’t have to be behind on your bill to qualify. It’s easy to apply. Just fill out our quick and easy online application. A specialist will review your application and let you know if you’re enrolled. PPL works with community agencies to administer the program.

While in the program, PPL will forgive the difference between your actual bill and your lower fixed OnTrack amount – up to a maximum credit amount which is based on your heating source and your income. For example, the maximum annual income for a household of five is $45,255.

OnTrack credits are the difference between your actual bill amount and your reduced OnTrack payment. So, if your bill is $200 and your OnTrack payment is $120, then your credit is $80.

“There are nearly 64,000 customers currently enrolled in OnTrack, but we know there are many more out there who have not applied for one reason or another,” said Melinda Stumpf, manager, Regulatory Programs and Business Services. “We’re here to help. OnTrack reduces monthly payments and can help at-risk customers from accumulating an overdue balance.”
