Fifteen line crews from the company's Lehigh, Central and Harrisburg regions in northeastern and north central Pennsylvania are assisting with restoring electrical service to customers of First Energy Corp.'s Jersey Central Power & Light subsidiary.

About 3,600 PPL Electric Utilities' customers were affected by Monday's storms. Power was restored for all of those customers by late Monday evening. As part of the Mid-Atlantic Mutual Assistance group, PPL Electric Utilities provides assistance to other utility companies when it is able to do so without affecting its ability to respond to its 1.3 million customers in 29 counties of eastern and central Pennsylvania.

Earlier this summer, PPL Electric Utilities provided line crews to help utilities in Pittsburgh, Baltimore and central New Jersey restore service to customers following storms.

Headquartered in Allentown, Pa., PPL Corporation controls nearly 11,500 megawatts of generating capacity in the United States, sells energy in key U.S. markets, and delivers electricity to nearly 6 million customers in Pennsylvania, the United Kingdom and Latin America.
