Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell Speaking Friday At PPL Corporation African- American Group's Black History Month Event

  WHAT:     Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell will be the guest speaker Friday
            (2/11) at the annual Black History Month observance organized
            by the African-American Business Resource Group at PPL
            Corporation.

  WHEN/
  WHERE:    The event will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Holiday Inn
            Conference Center-Lehigh Valley at Interstate 78 and Route 100
            in Fogelsville, Pa. Rendell is scheduled to arrive around
            1 p.m. and talk about the importance of diversity in the
            workplace.

  BACK-
  GROUND:   Formed in 2001, PPL's African-American Business Resource Group
            has about 50 members and is open to all PPL employees who
            support the organization's mission and objectives and who
            promote inclusiveness of African-Americans and other minorities
            throughout the company. It is one of a half dozen employee-led
            business resource groups whose members work with PPL management
            to cultivate a diverse workplace.
